Kids on a Mission is a program that is designed to teach preschool through 6th grade students how much God loves them, and the importance of sharing that good news with others. They will also learn that they do not have to wait until they are grown up to be used of the Lord.
The goal of Kids on a Mission is to help your child have a better understanding of the work God is doing all around the world and how He can use them to help spread the gospel. The children will hear what the Bible has to say about reaching others for Christ and about the people God has used to spread the truth to those around them. They will hear exciting stories throughout the year about missionaries like Hudson Taylor, Amy Carmichael, and Brother Andrew to name a few. Along with these stories, the children will be introduced to the missionary families our church supports. Memory verses, missions activities, and games are also used throughout each meeting to reinforce what is being taught.

It has been said that our kids are the "Church of tomorrow", but we believe they are the Church of TODAY! For this reason, our children's church ministry is one of the most important ministries here at First Church Florence. Through our children's church, we are seeking to lay a solid foundation for our children to build upon.
Every Sunday during the morning service at 10:45am, the K4-1st Graders meet in Room 5 of our Kid's Wing and the 2nd-6th Graders meet in Room 3. Both groups enjoy singing, playing Christ-centered games, and learning life lessons from God's Word. Children are sure to have a wonderful time, and parents can be assured that their children are being well taken care of.

Kids of the King is an extention of our Nursery Ministry.
During our Sunday evening service, after the children have participated in our booster band, our children's ministry workers have an age appropriate service planned for our preschool and kindergarten aged students. This service allows the children to participate in craft time, hear Bible stories, and enjoy an all important snack!This time serves as a fundamental occasion to build the truths of God's Word in the lives of our children. In addition, this ministry allows parents to focus on the truths being presented in our adult service while knowing their children are being ministered to by our loving, trained children's ministry staff.

One of the busiest ministries in all of First Church is the nursery. We thank the Lord every service for the well-trained staff that does such a wonderful job keeping and training our children while their parents worship in the adult service. Our nursery department has rooms designated for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Each age group has at least two well-trained nursery staff members present at all times.
